Is the TRD AI Trade Assistant connected to live customs data?
The assistant uses an OpenAI model through a server-side Hostinger PHP endpoint and stores chat messages in TRD’s MySQL database for alpha testing. It is not connected to INSW, CEISA, tariff or government notification databases, and it does not replace a review of your actual goods and documents.
Do we need an Indonesian entity to import?
It depends on the transaction structure. A foreign company should not assume it can act as importer of record without an eligible Indonesian entity and the required business and import identity. TRD can discuss a preliminary transaction review; roles and responsibilities must be assessed and agreed in writing.
Which import regulations does TRD reference?
Reviews reference the current import policy framework, including Permendag No. 16/2025 as amended by Permendag Nos. 37/2025 and 18/2026. Product-specific restrictions and permit requirements must be verified against the current official regulation and its appendices.
Is the cost estimate an official customs assessment?
